The winter solstice is the shortest, darkest day of the year when our energies are turned inward and the outer light of the sun is lessened. Following the new moon, winter solstice was at 10:03 AM on December 21, 2025. Astrologically, in the Vedic system the Sun, Mars and Venus in Mula nakshatra aligning with the center of the milky way and Moon in Purva Ashadha nakshatra, both in sidereal Sagittarius. Mercury will also be entering Sagittarius soon, it's a big build of of energies.

Despacho blessings!!! Today we have a partial solar eclipse with the Sun and Moon in sidereal Virgo with Mercury in Uttarphalguni nakshatra and the south node Ketu in Leo in Purvaphalguni nakshatra with Venus in Magha. We are at the seasonal intersection where the light in the northerm hemisphere is dimming and calling us within.
Today is the last day of Pitru Paksha, a time for the ancestors in the Vedic traditions, and a good time to make offerings and prayers. Tomorrow is the fall equinox in the northern hemisphere and the start of the fall Navaratri, a time for the NavDurgas - forms of Devi that help us cleanse our inner channels and darkness in the Devi Mahatmyam. In the liminal space of this changing season we offer our prayers to the Divine Feminine and our Ancestors.

Summer Solstice Despacho Prayer Offering ~ We offer our prayers and thanks for Pachamama, our Mother Earth and all beings, the Oceans, the Rivers, the Soil, the Sun who gives us light, the Plants who give us oxygen, all the critters all around us, the Winds, the Clouds who give us rain. All the beings who are visible and invisible in all the realms. We pray that all of us humans will awaken from our destructive ways and learn how to live more simply and in sacred connection with the Earth and all of life.
